- Taylor Swift had a busy start to June.
- The pop star attended three high-profile events in a row: the premiere of *Toy Story 5*, Game 4 of the NBA Finals, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
- Swift had some highs and lows throughout her week, including an insult from a sports radio analyst.
Taylor Swift had a pretty awesome week, jumping from Los Angeles to New York to attend various events in the film, sports, and music worlds.
She started out her week with a surprise appearance at the *Toy Story 5* premiere in L.A. on Tuesday, June 9, before jetting off to New York to for Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday, and being honored at the Songwriters Hall of Fame on Thursday.
Swift schmoozed with Tom Hanks and Joan Cusack at the Dolby Theatre, cheered for the Knicks alongside the Haim sisters and Mariska Hargitay and Madison Square Garden, and had a memorable date night with fiancé Travis Kelce at the Marriott Marquis Hotel — mere weeks before their reported wedding.
Long live, queen.
Despite the highs, however, there were some low moments in the week — including a near run-in with Scooter Braun and an insult from a radio analyst who deemed Swift a fake Knicks fan.
Below, the best and worst moments from Taylor Swift's busy June week.
BEST: Toy Story VHS autographs

Swift attended the Tuesday premiere of *Toy Story 5*, sparkling in an embellished minidress from Erdem's fall/winter '26 collection and an iconic accessory: a vintage 1995 *Toy Story* VHS tape.
"I didn't get a selfie, but I did sign her original VHS of the first *Toy Story*, Woody voice actor Tom Hanks told *USA Today *at the event. Joan Cusack and Tim Allen also signed the plastic casing, and posed with the singer for photos.
Swift wrote the original song "I Knew It, I Knew You," for Cusack's *Toy Story* character, Jessie, and performed the tune for a thrilled audience following the movie's screening.
BEST: Singing with Randy Newman

Following Swift's performance of her new song, she was joined on stage by the one and only Randy Newman as they sang the Disney-Pixar franchise's theme song "You Got a Friend in Me" together.
“I’m lucky enough to be here because of someone else, who is the architect of the *Toy Story* musical universe," Swift said on stage at the event, referencing Newman's various contributions to the film series — including *Toy Story 3*'s "We Belong Together" track, for which he won an Oscar.
The 82-year-old ad-libbed a playful response to 36-year-old Swift at a specific moment in the song: "Some folks might be a little bit smarter than I am," Swift sang, while Newman replied, "No one's smarter than you!"

Swift attended Game 4 of the NBA Finals, between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, alongside her close pals Este and Alana Haim. The trio rocked custom Knicks-themed T-shirts, which featured fun plays on words, including "Stevie Knicks," "Knickole Kidman," and "Knickelback."
Swift even shared one of the homemade tees with seat mate Mariska Hargitay, who happily put it on courtside.
The ladies all celebrated with New York as the Knicks staged a historic comeback and defeated the Spurs 107-106. They now lead 3-1 in the best-of-seven series.
WORST: Near run-in with Scooter Braun

Swift sat courtside at the Knicks game while her reputed enemy, Scooter Braun, was parked just a few rows behind her with his girlfriend, Sydney Sweeney. Swift and Braun have a fiery history as the former music manager paid a reported $300 million for Big Machine Records, Swift's former longtime label, in 2019. With the purchase came the master recordings of all of her songs recorded before she signed with Universal Music Group — including those from her albums *Taylor Swift *(2006), *Fearless* (2008), *Speak Now* (2010), *Red* (2012), *1989* (2014), and *Reputation* (2017).
Swift rerecorded four of the albums and deemed them "Taylor's Versions" before buying back her music catalog in May 2025.
Braun told *Second Thought* podcast host Suzy Weiss this year that he still doesn't understand the situation, stating, "I don't know Taylor Swift. I think I've met her in my life three times. I have never had a substantial conversation with her in my life."
BEST: A hug with Kylie Jenner

In a moment TikTok fans considered "more shocking than the Knicks' win," Swift and Kylie Jenner embraced following the out-of-this-world basketball game. They exchanged a couple of friendly words, with Jenner — who was in attendance with boyfriend and Knicks superfan Timothée Chalamet — saying, "Ah! That was so crazy," as Swift agreed.
The interaction was somewhat a surprise as there's been some bad blood between Swift and the Kardashian-Jenner household. Jenner's sister, Kim Kardashian, came to the defense of then-husband Kanye West when he insulted Swift in his 2016 track "Famous," after seemingly clearing the air for interrupting her 2009 Video Music Awards acceptance speech for Video of the Year.
"Make no mistake — my career was taken away from me," Swift told *TIME* in 2023 of Kardashian's claims that the singer approved of West's lyrics. "You have a fully manufactured frame job, in an illegally recorded phone call, which Kim Kardashian edited and then put out to say to everyone that I was a liar."
Swift said it “took me down psychologically to a place I've never been before,” adding that she “went down really, really hard.”
WORST: Radio analyst comes for Swift

Taylor Swift at Knicks vs. Spurs Game 4.
MSG Network radio analyst Monica McNutt spotted Swift courtside on "Celebrity Row" at the Knicks game Wednesday, and was caught on a hot mic questioning why the pop star was in attendance.
"She's not a Knicks fan," McNutt muttered to her colleague Tyler Murray. "Get out of here, girl."
Swift's supporters went wild, and McNutt eventually walked back her comments after realizing the "All Too Well" singer has been a Knicks fan for over a decade.
"Swifties, I appreciate your passion. I said what I said," McNutt told TMZ when a reporter caught her on a Manhattan street Thursday morning. "And here's the deal, if I'm wrong — and I am wrong, apparently, because she's got an OG Amar'e Stoudemire jersey. I misspoke, I did not know."

Swift was honored at the Songwriters Hall of Fame on Thursday, and her new pal and music sensation Sombr serenaded her, and the crowd, with two covers of her past hits. The "12 to 12" singer performed "Dear John" and "Cardigan" as Swift cheered and sang along in the audience.
Swift, who was inducted as part of the Class of 2026, praised Sombr as "the future" of music.
"She's the greatest. I'm just here to support Taylor tonight," Sombr told *Entertainment Tonight* on the carpet. "It's an iconic moment for her ... she's achieved pop perfection."
BEST: Asking Steven Spielberg to film her

Mere weeks before their alleged wedding date, Swift was joined by fiancé Travis Kelce, parents Andrea and Scott Swift, brother Austin Swift, and future in-laws Donna and Ed Kelce as she became the youngest female inductee in Songwriters Hall of Fame's history on Thursday. (Other artists inducted included Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of Kiss, John Fogerty, Alanis Morissette, Raye, Kenny Loggins, and non-performing songwriters Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten & Graham Lyle and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart.)

Swift was also joined by one of her early songwriting collaborators, Liz Rose, at the gala, and celebrated by Steven Spielberg on stage. That wasn't the filmmaker's only contribution. During a performance by Fogerty and his sons of "Fortunate Son," Swift asked Spielberg to film her and Kelce jamming out.

Following a touching introduction by Spielberg, Swift accepted her Hall of Fame honor by thanking her family and reflecting on the "magical chaos of this path that I chose" as one of the most popular music stars in history.
"When I say the songwriting is the easiest part for me, I think what I mean is that it's instinctual," she said. "No one taught me how to do it. I had to be taught how to entertain a crowd and learn choreography and be less annoying and navigate the industry and fiercely protect my sanity. I had to learn all of that over time, through difficult lessons and massive amounts of trial and error and chaos and calamity."
