Maren Morris shares insight into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding vows in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE

“It just felt like you really got a closer look into their love for each other and their sense of humor,” Morris says

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding vows were both intimate and funny, according to Maren Morris.

The country singer, 36, attended Swift and Kelce’s nuptials at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3, and she tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that the couple’s exchange of words before they said “I do” was “beautiful.”

“It just felt like you really got a closer look into their love for each other and their sense of humor,” says Morris, who is friends with Swift and has collaborated musically with the pop star.

“Being one of 1,000 people that witnessed that, it was an honor,” she adds. “[The best part was] just celebrating their love for each other.”

Swift and Kelce, both 36, got married in June. A source previously told PEOPLE the couple’s vows “were about 20 minutes each,” and Paul McCartney performed The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” and Stevie Nicks was also on the lineup of A-list performers.

“Taylor & Travis did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen. Instead, her brother, Austin Swift, served as Taylor’s Man of Honor, andJason Kelcewas Travis’ Best Man. The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friendAdam Sandler,” Swift’s representative confirmed to PEOPLE in a statement at the time.

In addition to their families, Swift and Kelce invited an extensive guest list of famous friends and colleagues, including Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez, Sabrina Carpenter, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Bradley Cooper and Dakota Johnson, among many others.

Swift and Kelce’s ceremony attire was created by Christian Dior Haute Couture and designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women’s, Men’s and Haute Couture Collections.

He worked in close collaboration with both Swift and Kelce to perfect their wedding day looks.

The couple’s shoes were custom-made by Christian Louboutin, and the “Love Story” singer wore Cartier jewelry, according to her representative.

According Morris, she met new people at Swift and Kelce’s wedding, and she also got to reconnect with old friends that she “hadn’t seen in a long time.”

“I feel like my neck hurt by the end of the night because I just kept turning my head around seeing people I never thought I’d see before in person,” she says with a laugh.

“It’s always an honor, and it’s inspiring when you go to a wedding and you feel this huge dose of hope for love. I think we all felt it that night for them,” continues the mother of one.

“It was really fun,” adds Morris, who recently launched EDITED by Maren Morris, a new apparel collection created in partnership with Sam’s Club and Sunrise Brands.
