Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Got Married, But I Can’t Stop Thinking About the Garden Where They Got Engaged

For diehard fans, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding is a lifetime supply of news and conversation topics. But I’m still caught up on what got us here in the first place.

First, there’s the fact they got engaged. Then there’s the ring—old mine cut, somewhere between seven and 13 karats, depending on who’s guessing. Then there’s the choice to drop the announcement on a random Tuesday afternoon on Instagram. And it’s all incredible. But the thing I cannot stop thinking about most of all is that garden.

On August 26, 2025, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got engaged after two years of dating and the internet exploded. My brain exploded.

Here’s why I can’t get this garden out of my head.

I Can’t Believe It’s Travis Kelce’s Backyard

One of the first things I wanted to know was where that garden was and how do I get into it. I love a good botanic garden. One of Martha Stewart’s favorite botanic gardens, Longwood Gardens, is one of my favorites as well. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to visit The Engagement Garden.

The garden in question is in Travis Kelce’s backyard. I have been zooming in on these images as close as possible. Of course because I want to see the ring, but I’m also trying to get a better understanding of that garden.

The aesthetic is unparalleled. It looks like an AI rendering of an enchanted garden come to life. It’s cottagecore but make it fairytale and give it a color palette. It’s full of whites, shades of pink, and even a few pops of peach. There’s a trellis and massive planters. The aesthetic feels predominantly the Lover era with some Speak Now and Fearless mixed in.

It Probably Took 2,000 Flowers and $38K to Make

A florist interviewed by PEOPLE estimated that it took at least 2,000 flowers and 800 pounds of greenery to get the look. There are two massive concrete planters, a domed arboretum, and a ground installation that includes boulders and river rocks.

The florist speculated that the flowers are mostly garden roses, anemone, roses, and lilies. The greens are similax vines, moss, and more vines. I had similax vines on the ceiling at my wedding and I don’t think there’s any prettier vine.

The area surrounding where he’s kneeling on the ground is full of limelight hydrangeas, secret garden roses, delphinium, white duchess peonies, and pink surprise lilies, per the florist. The pathway she says is lined with boxwood and lilies.

I’ve never seen limelight hydrangeas that white or peonies that big. Peonies were the “it” flower of 2024, but if we’re seeing them at Taylor Swift’s engagement then we know they’re here to stay.

How Is It All in Bloom?

My big question is how did he all get it blooming at once? The structures I understand were made using flowers that were in already bloom. They were installed in his backyard probably the same way you install an arch for a wedding (i.e., onsite and day-of). But what about the plants that are in the ground, like the hydrangeas and some of the roses?

Did those bloom at a nursery and then they were planted in his garden and miraculously still look amazing even after being transplanted? Did he get them planted three months ago and he’s been having a landscaper take care of them and fertilize them on a very specific schedule to get them to bloom at once?

Most likely it is just an entirely different level of floral installation than I am aware of. I am sure with enough money you can pay to have in-bloom plants installed in your landscape.

All I know for sure is there’s no way Travis Kelce has been growing and maintaining that garden himself.

I Need My Own Enchanted Garden

God bless that florist who spoke to PEOPLE for the inside scoop on the flowers, because now I know exactly what I’ll be doing in my garden every year.

Even if I can’t get an arboretum, I can get a bench with some pillows and tuck it into a cozy corner of the yard. And I might have to hang a chandelier from a strong tree branch. The one Swift and Kelce are seated under looks like it’s made of vines and flowers, and it’s topped with candles. Color me enchanted.
