Singer and actor Ray J was reportedly hospitalized in Las Vegas, Nev., on Wednesday, Jan. 6, after reportedly suffering "heart pains."
TMZ reported that a source close to the singer shared the news with the publication, claiming that Ray J is dealing with a "severe" case of pneumonia.
He was allegedly still in the hospital on Thursday afternoon and had already undergone both X-rays and an echocardiogram, which is an ultrasound of the heart. There has been no news on the results of the procedures.
Ray J's latest hospitalization for pneumonia happened just over four years after he suffered another intense case of the illness.
While he was hospitalized in late 2021, Ray J spoke with TMZ about the seriousness of the situation, telling the publication, "I thought it was over. I started praying and knew God is good so I just kept praying."
Doctors initially thought he had COVID-19 before he was finally diagnosed with pneumonia. He received treatment in the hospital, at one point needing oxygen and struggling to talk, but he soon recovered and was discharged.
While it's unknown if Ray J is still in the hospital as of Thursday night, the singer didn't appear to let his illness stop him from sharing news with fans, as he posted an announcement about an upcoming event on his Instagram.
He wrote in the new update, "1/18/26 ……. AUSTIN TX …. IT’s #STRIPPERBOWL SEASON ….. MY BDAY WEEKEND GOING UP…," sharing a poster for the event.

While fans seemed excited about the news, many shared well-wishes in the comments, writing, "Get better soon, Ray!" "Get better ❤️🩹 family love you 😘," and "Get well soon!!❤️❤️."
Ray J included no mention of his reported illness in the post.
The singer has also dealt with some legal issues recently, as he was arrested in late November for making criminal threats, and multiple firearms were found in his house, according to Fox 11 News. Ray J was booked at a police station in Los Angeles, and his bail was set at $50,000.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman declined to press criminal charges. Ray J faces six misdemeanor offenses from Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto, including brandishing a firearm and child endangerment.
