NBA legend Dwyane Wade is stepping into the animated spotlight alongside his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, in the upcoming family-friendly sports movie GOAT.
The casting news was revealed through a teaser post shared by the filmās official Instagram account, which introduced Wade as the voice of Rosette, a bull who competes in the intense world of āroarball,ā the movieās basketball-inspired sport. The animated feature is set to hit theaters exclusively on Feb. 13, 2026.
The Instagram post featured a bold image of Rosette and a simple but energetic caption encouraging fans to āget wildā for Wadeās character. For longtime fans of Wade, the announcement marks a fun crossover moment, blending his Hall of Fame basketball career with a growing presence in entertainment.

It also brings an extra layer of excitement because Wade and Union are both part of the same voice cast, turning the project into a rare on-screen collaboration for the real-life couple.
GOAT is produced by NBA superstar Steph Curry through his Unanimous Media banner, in partnership with Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film is directed by Tyree Dillihay and features a colorful cast of anthropomorphic animals competing in a rough-and-tumble professional league.

In the film, Gabrielle Union voices Jett Fillmore, a legendary black panther and star player for the Vineland Thorns. Jett is portrayed as a veteran athlete still chasing her first championship, a figure admired by the movieās young hero. Wadeās character, Rosette, plays for the opposing team, the Shadows, and is described as a powerful presence on the court.
The couple recently rang in 2026 together while traveling in Kyoto, Japan, sharing moments from their trip on social media. That glimpse into their personal life, paired with this professional collaboration, has helped fuel interest in their latest joint venture.
At the center of GOAT is Will Harris, a small goat voiced by Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin. Will dreams of playing professionally and earns a chance to compete in roarball, a fast, physical sport filled with towering and fierce animals.
Curry not only produces the film but also voices Lenny Williamson, a giraffe player for the Thorns.
The voice cast also includes David Harbour, Nick Kroll, Nicola Coughlan, Jennifer Hudson, Jenifer Lewis and Aaron Pierre. WNBA stars Angel Reese and Aāja Wilson appear as well.
With animation from artists who previously worked on Spider-Verse and KPop Demon Hunters, GOAT promises a bold visual style to match its high-energy story.
As someone who grew up watching Wade dominate the NBA, seeing him lend his voice to an animated rival feels like a natural next chapter, one that invites younger audiences into the game through storytelling rather than highlights.
