To Marvel Studios, my X-Men! It seems that the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s rendition of the X-Men is slowly coming together.

Samara Weaving has reportedly been cast to join the MCU as Emma Frost, according to Deadline. The outlet reports that the *Ready or Not 2: Here I Come** *star was chosen as the ice-themed telepathic mutant earlier this week after after director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige met with a number of candidates.

Schreier and Marvel execs have reportedly been meeting with and auditioning stars all summer to fill out the roster for the upcoming X-Men film.

** ha reached out to Marvel and reps for Weaving for comment.

Weaving would be the third actress to portray the character on film; Tahyna Tozzi played a version of the character as Kayla Silverfox’s sister in *X-Men Origins: Wolverine*, while January Jones most recently portrayed her in *X-Men: First Class* and *X-Men: Days of Future Past*.

The casting news comes a day after newcomer Sadie Sink made her debut as Jean Grey —the telekinetic and telepathic mutant of Marvel Comics who’s destined to become a crucial member of the X-Men — in *Spider-Man: Brand New Day.*

According to Sink, the Jean Grey rumors were “happening before I even knew that I would be working on this project,” she told ** last November. “I was like, ‘Wait! What are people talking about?’” But the actress wasn’t going to be the one to answer that question prematurely — even if singer-songwriter Steve Lacy did blurt it out at the world premiere in Hollywood on Monday.

“We had a story for Peter... It’s always about Peter. It always starts with Peter and ends with Peter,” Feige explained. “We had a Peter story that we wanted to tell, and knew that there were a number of characters that could fit into that. And it was Sadie’s name who came up that solidified the idea of the character that she’s playing.”

Feige continues to signal that Marvel’s mutants will be “core” to the MCU after *Avengers: Secret Wars*, as he put it while speaking with press in Shanghai. On the press line at San Diego Comic-Con, he also said, “There are sagas upon sagas upon sagas within the X-Men that we’re very excited to delve into.”
