Kenan & Kel are (temporarily) back together.

*Saturday Night Live *star Kenan Thompson was joined on Tuesday's episode of *Good Sports*, the weekly show that he normally cohosts with Kevin Hart, by Kel Mitchell.

The two previously costarred on Nickelodeon comedies *All That* and *Kenan & Kel,* which then spawned the *Good Burger *movie in 1997 and its 2023 sequel, *Good Burger 2*.

"Unfortunately, Mr. Kevin Hart is under the weather," Thompson announced in a teaser released ahead of the new episode, in which both he and Mitchell appeared. (They didn't wear paper hats this time.)

Mitchell wished Hart well.

"I'm over the moon," he said, "because that means that I get to host with my best amigo."

Thompson noted that was "very excited" that Mitchell was stepping in.

Thompson and Mitchell have a long history, beginning with their childhood roles on Nickelodeon shows. They costarred on the sketch comedy *All That*, on which they appeared as teens, alongside Amanda Bynes and Nick Cannon, in 1994. By 1996, they had their own show, *Kenan & Kel*, and their cult classic movie, *Good Burger*, came out by 1997.

Thompson has acknowledged that theirs is the kind of friendship that has survived at least one major argument.

"It was more of a separation that kind of grew into the traditional terms of what a falling out is, which is like not a lot of communication," Thompson said in December 2023 on *Today*.

"Originally, it was just us kind of looking for our own individualism, basically, as adults, taking a breather from being a duo because we both came into the game as individuals," the *SNL* star explained. "And we were placed together because we worked so well together and all that. It was just a journey of being adults. Time passes and more time passes and it just became ridiculous."

When they got back in touch after a hiatus, nothing had really changed.**
