Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are looking to slow things down after a whirlwind first year of dating.
They’re also reportedly focused on creating a “stable system to nurture their kids.”
Perry shares a daughter with ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom, while Trudeau has three children with ex-wife Sophie Grégoire.
After a whirlwind year, Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are reportedly ready to “lay some roots down” and “re-stabilize” as they figure out what’s best for their blended family.
“They will finally have time to settle in,” an insider told Us Weekly of Perry and Trudeau, who have spent weeks abroad as she wraps up her Out of Office Tour. “Over the last month, they have been co-parenting in Europe, and their exes Sophie [Grégoire] and Orlando [Bloom] have been there.”

Perry shares 5-year-old daughter Daisy with Bloom, her former fiancé, while Trudeau has three children with his ex-wife.
“The idea is to re-stabilize and have some down time in August to figure out the architecture of what their relationship looks like, to lay some roots down and get a proper rhythm,” the source added. “They want to make sure there is a stable system to nurture their kids.”

Trudeau, who was Canada’s prime minister from 2015 to 2025, reportedly intended to have a “normal life” after leaving office. Last July, he began dating Perry, who had then freshly broken up with Bloom, her partner of nearly a decade.
“[Trudeau] bought a house, moved back to Montreal and has yet to settle into the home because of his relationship [with Perry] and the new world they live in,” the same person shared. “Everyone is rooting for them, but they need to settle down a bit, so that’s the plan. Everyone close to them wants them to succeed in their relationship.”

Perry and Trudeau went Instagram official in December before making their red carpet debut in June. The couple attended the premiere of her concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour – Live from Paris at the 2026 Tribeca Film Festival.
