Jason Biggs stars in 'American Pie' in 1999

Jason Biggs has long dreaded the moment that he'd have to explain that scene in 1999 movie American Pie to his children. It just arrived.

"They kept hearing about American Pie and pie and [asking], 'Daddy, what do you do with the pie?' and I had to have a conversation with my oldest," Biggs, who shares sons Sid, 11, and Lazlo, 8, with wife Jenny Mollen, explained on a recent episode of SiriusXM's The Julia Cunningham Show. "I actually showed him the scene. Jenny and I talked about this, and we were like, 'We want to get ahead of this.'"

For Biggs, the issue was real.

He recalled that his family was "walking in New York on the street and the boys were up ahead and thank god they did not hear it, but a guy walked past us all and literally screamed out back to me, 'Hey, it's the pie f---er, and I looked immediately at the boys," Biggs said. "They did not hear him, thank god."

The actor, who's known for not only the American Pie franchise, but for films such as Prozac Nation and Anything Else, as well as TV's Orange Is the New Black, approached it carefully.

"It's my version of a sex talk, right?" he asked. "It's like, how much do you want them to hear from friends and other people at school, and how much do you want to control the narrative, and it was literally happening with American Pie."

Biggs then did what he felt needed to be done, and it went okay.

"He guessed it, so in a way, I almost didn't control the narrative," Biggs said, "but he wasn't entirely sure. But I wanted to ask him first. I said, 'What do you think happens?' I was just curious, and he actually guessed correctly. He was embarrassed to say it, very embarrassed, but I was like, 'Okay. Let me show you. Let me show you what happened,' and so I showed him the scene, and he laughed and laughed."

Not that the moment was easy. After all, the movies — American Pie, American Pie 2, American Wedding, and American Reunion — were known for their racy content, including the scene featuring Biggs getting down and dirty with a freshly baked dessert.

"He was a little uncomfortable for sure," Biggs said. "He did say I was a good actor."
