Jason Aldean Says Social Media Is Making People āSo Obliviousā [EXCLUSIVE]

Jason Aldean isnāt a fan of what social media has become, and if he had his way, heād eliminate it altogether⦠even though his wife, Brittany, is a social media influencer.
The multi-platinum singer was asked what he would get rid of in country music, but his answer went beyond the genre.
āSocial media, across the board ā get rid of it,ā he says. āThatās going to be a very unpopular answer.ā
Aldean does say that social media can have its benefits when itās used properly, but he believes people have taken it far beyond what it was originally intended to be.

Heās right in that sense: Social media was originally invented to help college students friend one another and keep in touch and up to date on their lives ā a far cry from what it has indeed become.
Aldean says, āI just think social media, when used in the right way, is great, but like anything, people take advantage of stuff, and they turn it into something that it wasnāt intended to be.ā

This kind of sounds like a dad from the ā90s screaming āThis is why we canāt have nice things!ā
What is Jason Aldeanās Issue With Social Media?
For Aldean, his biggest problem is how much time people spend staring at their phones and how social media can contribute to negativity and division ā something we witness almost daily at this point, across all platforms of social media.

The āDirt Road Anthemā singer elaborates, āYou see people ā they canāt get out of their phones now, and theyāre so oblivious to whatās going on in the outside world. It drives me crazy.ā
That frustration also helps explain why fans donāt see Aldean posting constantly. Heās been involved in his share of social media controversy over the years, but he says he has little interest in living on the platforms.
