Dakota Johnson appears to flirt with rumored boyfriend Role Model on his new song ‘Love I You’

Role Model debuted his new song “Love I You” in Chicago on July 30.

The track appears to feature rumored girlfriend Dakota Johnson.

The two have a flirty back-and-forth during the song’s bridge.

Role Model might have just taken the term hard launch to a whole other level.

The singer (real name Tucker Pillsbury) took the stage in Chicago on Thursday and debuted a new song titled “Love I You,” which appeared to feature Dakota Johnson’s voice. The track is set to be released on Role Model’s upcoming album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, which will drop on Aug. 7.

According to videos taken at the show and shared on social media, Role Model appears to be having a back-and-forth with a female voice that sounds like Johnson during the tune.

“Hey, I think you’re perfect,” Role Model sings. The female voice responds, “You say that to everyone.”

Role Model wonders, “‘Kay, well is it working?” The woman answers, “Yeah, but don’t tell anyone.”

Johnson seemingly speculates that Role Model is “just having fun” as the conversation continues. He assures her, “Oh, you don’t know me.”

As the song continues, the woman asks, “What is it this time?”

Role Model tells her that he’s “got money,” and Johnson, appearing to flirt, calls him “big time” and “Mr. Big Night” as the clip comes to an end. It was previously rumored that Johnson was set to appear in a music video on Role Model’s upcoming album, and now, fans are speculating it’s for this song.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to reps for Role Model and Johnson for comment.

Johnson first sparked romance rumors with the singer in Dec. 2025 when they were spotted out to dinner together. The following month, the duo were seen on multiple outings in Los Angeles, fueling speculation that they were more than friends.

By April, cameras caught Johnson kissing Role Model. The photos, obtained by PEOPLE at the time, showed the “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” singer holding a laptop as he and the actress locked lips outside an office building in L.A. That same day, Johnson’s mom, Melanie Griffith, called Role Model “fabulous” in a video posted by Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi.

Johnson was previously engaged to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, but they ended their on-off romance — which started in 2017 — in June 2025. Role Model, meanwhile, was romantically linked to internet star Emma Chamberlain from 2020 to 2023.

Role Model discussed his love life during a recent interview with Rolling Stone, telling the magazine that his new record was written when he was feeling “stagnant” during a “two-year period of being single and dating.” The musician explained that he felt “pressure” the entire time about “getting older” and feeling like he needed to “find love.”

“I’m also now at the age where everyone’s getting married around me, and I’ve just started going to weddings as an adult for the first time last year,” he said in the interview, published on June 4, referring to the fake Chuck Timley, whom he created. “I wanted to represent this character that I came up with as well as the themes which he represents. He’s a little bit pathetic in a charming way.

Role Model’s new record, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, will be released on Aug. 7.
