Conference championship weekend is here, and College Football Playoff spots are up for grabs.
No. 20 Tulane locked up a spot in the playoff field with a handy 34-21 win over No. 24 North Texas and No. 25 James Madison kept its hopes alive with a win over Troy in the Sun Belt. All the Dukes need is for Duke to beat Virginia in the ACC title game and they will likely be in the postseason.
How will the rest of the conference championships shake out? Here's how to watch all the college football action today (scroll for live updates).
No. 11 BYU vs. No. 4 Texas Tech (Big 12)Noon ET | ABC
At No. 4 in Tuesday’s CFP rankings, Tech is almost assuredly in the playoff even with a loss to BYU. But the Red Raiders are going to have the backing of a very partisan crowd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The Cougars are in the playoff for the first time with a win over the Red Raiders.
No. 3 Georgia vs. No. 9 Alabama (SEC)4 p.m. ET | ABC
A win guarantees a first-round bye for the Bulldogs. It would also be Georgia’s third SEC title in the past four seasons. On the other side, a win gets the Crimson Tide into the playoff. A loss and, well, who knows with this committee. The disaster scenario for Alabama is a loss coupled with a BYU win.
No. 1 Ohio State vs. No. 2 Indiana (Big Ten)8 p.m. ET | Fox
Whoever wins this game is the No. 1 seed in the playoff and heading to the Rose Bowl. Four more wins makes Ohio State — or Indiana — the first team in college football history to go 16-0. It’s fair to say a Big Ten title would mean a bit more to an Indiana program that's been starved for football success over the years.
Duke vs. No. 17 Virginia (ACC)8 p.m. ET | ABC
The Blue Devils have the opportunity to throw a wrench into the 12-team playoff with a win. OK, maybe a Duke win wouldn't be all that funny for ACC officials, but it’d be great for the idea that anyone has a chance to make the playoff now. For Virginia, a victory would continue what’s been a dream season for Tony Elliott’s team.

- Sun, December 7, 2025 at 3:25 AM GMT+9Yahoo Sports StaffBear Bachmeier hobbled
The Cougars' freshman quarterback does not look right. He was already working with a bad ankle and just got hit low on the last play. He's been playing a bit gingerly today.
There's 2 minutes left in the half and BYU has the ball at its own 43 facing a third-and-10.

The Red Raiders couldn't take advantage of the short field as Stone Harrington pulled the 48-yard kick wide left.
It's still 10-7 with 4:51 left in the half.

The Cougars used a lot of misdirection and fakes to slow down the Texas Tech front on its first drive. And it worked with a TD.
The last two drives have not featured nearly that type of play-calling. And it's showed. You can't build an entire offense out of the plays BYU ran on the first drive. Can they get something going again after that botched punt fake? And how injured is Bear Bachmeier's left ankle.

The Cougars are going to want that one back. Punter Sam Vander Haar rolled out to try to throw it and it was broken up, falling incomplete and giving Tech the ball back at the BYU 42.

That TD catch by Coy Eakin is one of the weirdest spots you'll ever see. Eakin clearly scored a touchdown in front of the official on the sideline, but the official marked Eakin a full yard short of the end zone.
Replay review saved the day, but it shouldn't have been necessary to begin with.

The Red Raiders are flying now. Behren Morton just capped off a quick-twitch drive with a 32-yard throw to Coy Eakin, who made the twisting grab and got into the end zone.

The Texas Tech defense looked a lot more like it has all season on that second drive, stifling the Cougars from jump. The Red Raiders will have the ball back at their own 39.

The Red Raiders weren't able to get it into the end zone after several false start penalties and they had to settle for a field goal after the first quarter came to a close.

The Red Raiders already have three false starts ... and guess what? They are having to kick another field goal in the red zone as a result.

The Red Raiders are wasting no time on the ensuing drive. They're already in the red zone after several chunk plays through the air by Behron Morton.

The Cougars cap off the long touchdown drive with a 10-yard run into the end zone by LJ Martin. That was a 14-play, 90-yard drive that took almost 7 minutes off the clock.
What a start for BYU!

The Cougars are having success moving the ball on the opening drive through a steady mix of pass and run plays. A reverse pass from Parker Kingston to Carsen Ryan just got them down to the 11 on a gain of 22 yards.

This is already a better start for BYU than what happened in Lubbock. That bodes well for Cougars, even if they ultimately don't get any points on their first drive

Now it's the Cougars on the move after a scramble by Bear Bachmeier. They're in Texas Tech territory as the first quarter ticks down to 8 minutes.

- Sun, December 7, 2025 at 1:50 AM GMT+9Yahoo Sports StaffThe ACC is a mess, and desperate times call for desperate measures ... like rooting for Virginia
Virginia plays Duke this Saturday in the ACC championship, and the entire conference will be rooting so hard for the Cavaliers that Duke might as well be an out-of-conference opponent.
The 8-5 Blue Devils managed to win a five-way tiebreaker with Miami, Pitt, Georgia Tech and SMU despite the fact that literally every one of those teams finished with a better overall record than Duke. That’s obviously not Duke’s fault; you play the schedule you’re given, and the conference slate broke the Blue Devils’ way.
But a Duke win on Saturday would likely mean the ACC misses out on the College Football Playoff — and its multi-million-dollar payout.
