Chrissy Teigen took to Instagram to share how her holiday celebrations started off with a bang thanks to candy cane planting gone awry. In a video shared on Sunday, the *Cravings* author documented how helping her and John Legend's four children — Luna, 9, Miles, 7, and 2-year-olds Esti and Wren — "grow" candy canes led to her losing a dental veneer.

Titled "Growing Candy Cane (Gone wrong)," the video shows the kids planting Oreo crumbs in small pots, in which Teigen then spends the night planting their "growing" candy canes. On the third night, while attempting to swap the mini candy canes for even bigger ones, the 40-year-old reveals that she knocked out one of her front veneers.

"I'm working on candy cane growing," she told the camera. "And tried to open one of these bad boys — my tooth fell off."

The former *Lip Sync Battle* emcee flashed a smile for the camera, showing the missing front tooth, and added, "It's a veneer. I have the whole piece. This is what moms do for their kids, so that you can think you grew a candy cane."

"I was trying to create magic," Teigen quipped to the camera before noting that she would have to sport the gap in her smile while attending her kids' recital. "Now I have no tooth and tomorrow's the winter sing. Oh my god!"

Still, Teigen didn't let her missing tooth stop the festivities. The mom of four included footage of her singing in the car as she drove to the event and later at the recital with Wren, eating another candy cane with a mask hanging on her chin. She wrote on the clip, "Had to go to the recital like this."

It all proved worthwhile for Teigen, who wrapped the video with a series of photos showing the candy cane "plants" all sprouted. In one photo, the former model poses with her chin in her hands as she displays the finished candy cane project.

While Legend, understandably, only commented with a series of laughing emojis under his wife's post, other celebrities cheered the star's lighthearted approach to the mishap.

"I love what's unwell with you 😂😂😂😂," *The Real* host Jeannie Mai wrote. Another commenter wrote, "All I want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth 🎶"

Teigen shared an update to her Instagram Stories on Sunday, posting a video of her at the dentist. "We are back in business," she wrote on the video of her cosmetic dentist, Dr. Laurence Rifkin, installing the replacement veneer.

She also shared a final toothless selfie of herself posing alongside a smiling Luna, writing, "Was cool to say hi to my old tooth for a while hiii old tooth!"**
