Hannah Ann Sluss is sharing the financial realities of giving birth in a candid video.

The Bachelor star, 29, shared a video on her TikTok on Tuesday, Dec. 23, where she got honest about the price of giving birth to her first baby, son Lucas, in a hospital. "I gave birth a month ago to our little baby boy and we received our hospital bill," Sluss began her video. "I wanted to run through exactly how much it cost us."

"I checked in on Wednesday night, had him early Thursday morning and left Friday by that afternoon," she explained. "It was very quick. Starting off with the delivery room, it was $8,366 [and the] OB second bed was $5,850. I'm assuming that's the postpartum room that they had me in. That's really expensive for one night."

She went on to say that she was also charged $3,681 and quipped that her hospital room was the "most expensive hotel" she's ever stayed at.

"I don't know why I did this to myself, but after I gave birth, I remember the nurse asking me if I want Motrin," remembered Sluss. "I had already had an epidural, and I was like, 'I wanna detox everything.' I was insane because a few hours later I started having really bad pain down there."

Sluss explained that she had a second-degree tear after giving birth to her son Lucas, which caused some of her pain. She added that there was a $3,000 fee for O.R. services and a $473 cost for lab hermatology.

"Laboratory $372, IV solutions $235, drugs and pharmacy $20.93, that must have been the Motrin," she continued. "Total charges $22,000.92. We paid $104."

She went on to say that their hospital bill also included the cost of an epidural, which was $7,500. Although it was quite pricey, Sluss said it was "so worth it" and that she would've paid "whatever."

"We haven't gotten any bills for [Lucas] yet. I don't know, am I gonna get hit with something else? Yeah, that's how much it costs to have a baby in the United States," Sluss said.

On Nov. 24, Sluss announced she'd welcomed her first baby with her NFL player husband, Funk, 27, sharing the news on Instagram.

The new mom shared a photo on her Instagram Stories after returning home from the hospital, writing that the couple has been in "newborn heaven" since welcoming their baby.

"We've spent the last few days at home soaking in newborn heaven. I'll share more soon 🥹," she wrote across a photo of the couple's dog wearing an adorable "Big Brother" bandana.

In June, Sluss and Funk shared they were expecting their first baby together exclusively with PEOPLE. The pair, who tied the knot in June 2023 in a romantic ceremony in Italy, said at the time they were due in November.

"We found out we were expecting during a trip to Dubai," Sluss told PEOPLE. "It was such an unexpected and joyful surprise! A moment we'll always treasure. I will be sharing Jake's reaction video soon, it was so funny!"
