Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann’s first daughter, Maude, was born on December 15, 1997. Five years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Iris, on October 12, 2002.

After working with their parents as child actors in movies like Knocked Up and This Is 40, both of them have pursued Hollywood careers.

Maude has starred in Euphoria and movies like One of Them Days, while Iris is set to have her breakout moment in the upcoming prequel The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

With two parents in the entertainment industry, it’s perhaps no surprise that director Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann’s daughters, Maude and Iris Apatow, are following in their footsteps.

Judd and Mann’s first daughter, Maude, was born on December 15, 1997. Five years later, they welcomed their second daughter, Iris, on October 12, 2002.

Since a very early age, Judd and Mann didn’t shy away from bringing their girls to set and even acting with them in their projects. At just 5 and 9 years old, the two starred in their dad’s films, including Knocked Up and its sequel, This Is 40, along with the 2009 comedy Funny People.

“They’re not scared that cameras are around,” Judd told The Hollywood Reporter of his daughters in 2012. “They’re so annoyed with each other that they’re not distracted by the fact that they’re shooting a movie and it needs to go well, they’re more concerned about whatever argument I’m trying to make them have on camera.”

Since then, both Maude and Iris have pursued careers in the industry. Maude was cast in Euphoria while still in college at Northwestern University, and has been building her filmography ever since. In 2025, she also made her directorial debut in Poetic License, which stars her mom and is set to release later this year.

Iris has also starred in exciting projects since her child-acting days, starring in shows like Love, Unstable and Tell Me Lies, and movies like Pretty Lethal and the upcoming prequel The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

Maude Apatow

Mann and Judd’s first daughter, Maude Apatow, was born on December 15, 1997.

After attending the private Crossroads School for high school, she enrolled in Northwestern University to study theater. During her studies, however, Maude took a break from school and later left Northwestern altogether.

“I took a break because I was having a really hard time there, and when I was planning on going back, I got cast in Euphoria,” she explained to Vanity Fair. In the headline-making HBO series, which premiered in June 2019, Maude played Lexi Howard.

After her breakout role in Euphoria, Maude starred in several TV shows and movies, including Hollywood, The King of Staten Island, One of Them Days and Oh. What. Fun.

Starting February 2023, Maude also took her talents to the stage when she was cast as Audrey in the Off-Broadway production of Little Shop of Horrors. “The time of my life,” Maude wrote on Instagram after her time in the show came to an end in April. “I love you all so much. Thank you for everything ❤️.”

Through it all, Maude has been candid about the privilege she has because of her famous parents. “I obviously understand that I’m in such a lucky position,” she told Porter in 2022, after admitting that the “nepo baby” label made her sad at first. Now, however, she sees it as an opportunity to prove herself. “It’s so early in my career, I don’t have much to show yet, but hopefully one day I’ll be really proud of the stuff I’ve done by myself.”

In 2025, Maude gave herself a new title as she made her directorial debut for Poetic License. The decision was partly due to an important piece of advice from her dad.

“My dad always told me acting is tough because you never know what’s going to come next,” she told Porter. Per the director, an actor is a small piece of the final product. “To not have any control of that is scary sometimes, so I try to do other things,” Maude said.

Poetic Licence, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is set to release on October 16, 2026, follows two best friends, Sam and Ari, whose friendship unravels as they compete for the affection of Liz, the middle-aged mom auditing their college poetry workshop. Liz is played by Mann.

“I just want to be around Maude every day of my life, so I was thrilled to be able to do this,” Mann told The Hollywood Reporter of the role. As for how proud she is of Maude, Mann said her daughter was a “decisive, super self-assured” director who “created a really safe space for all of us and that’s like a dream for an actor.”

As for her personal life, Maude has been dating actor Patrick Gibson since early 2024. They announced their relationship in a sweet post of him kissing her on the cheek during a Knicks game in June 2024.

Iris Apatow

Iris Apatow was born on October 12, 2002, in Los Banos, California. She also graduated from the Crossroads School and went on to study film at the University of Southern California.

In addition to her on-screen roles when she was much younger, Iris has continued her acting career into adulthood. She appeared in several episodes of the Netflix series Love from 2016 to 2018, starred in The Bubble alongside her mom in 2022, and in the TV series Unstable in 2024. Her latest roles have marked a new phase of her career, in major productions such as Hulu’s Tell Me Lies, where she played Amanda, and the action movie Pretty Lethal alongside Uma Thurman.

Her next acting role is her most pinch-me moment to date, playing Proserpina Trinket in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The prequel movie is set to premiere on November 20, 2026.

In a video for Vogue, Iris talked about going all out for her audition for the role, which included wearing crazy pink lipstick and eyeshadow and a big pink dress. “I’m just gonna go for it because either way it’s a cool thing to say you played the character for even two minutes,” she said, before adding, “the callback was terrifying.”

As for her personal life, Iris, whose best friend is none other than pop star Olivia Rodrigo, has had two public relationships over the years. In 2022, she went public with Ryder Robinson, the son of Kate Hudson and ex-husband Chris Robinson. The two broke up sometime in 2023.

By early 2024, Iris then went Instagram official with her new boyfriend, White Lotus season 3 star Sam Nivola. The actor is the son of Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola. Rumors of their relationship started blooming when pictures emerged of Iris on the White Lotus set. “I brought my girlfriend [on set] for a few months, which was amazing,” Nivola told People about her support. “It was so great to have a taste of home because it was 10,000 miles away from home.”

In addition to snapshots of their life together on social media, Iris and Nivola have since attended many red carpet events together, including the Dior Homme fashion show as part of Paris Fashion Week last month, the 32nd Annual Actor Awards, the 72nd Taormina Film Festival, and the White Lotus season 3 premiere in February 2025.

Iris and Nivola live together in New York City, where they are raising a cat named Kumo.
