As he explained on the show, Mark Ebinger, 59, (Daddy Mark) was once married to Tom Freeman, 71, (Daddy Tom), and the two had twins, Beau and Coy, with the help of a surrogate. After divorcing, the couple was adamant they didn't want to break up the family, and so Freeman decided to stay with the family. Later, Mark remarried Moke Coffey, 62, (Daddy Moke), and since then has acted as the twins' third dad. "We're all here for the kids," Ebinger said on the episode."As crazy as it seems, it works," Mark said in a confessional. The family is also expecting one more baby this year.During the show, McCann competed with another member of the group, fellow "manny" Mitchell Bienvenue, to win the job of nanny for Ebinger, Coffey and Freeman's son, Coy. Another nanny, Liv McMahon, was given the job of working with the trio's daughter, Beau.Bienvenue and McCann try to win the affection of their young client, with McCann confident that he will win the task, given that he, like the three dads, is also gay.

The first episode also followed other nannies, like ex-nanny for the Kardashian-Jenners, Leah Barrs, who is the woman behind the Ibiza agency and her best friend Sydney Siegel as they struggled to navigate the demands of their pushy new employers, Miami-based dentist Camila Guiribitey and her mother Taty Guiribitey.Speaking with PEOPLE back in October 2025, the trio told PEOPLE adamantly that they were "not a throuple." "We're three parents raising our kids together."The living arrangement wasn't always easy, Moke told PEOPLE at the time. "I had hesitation, of course. It was very awkward for me because, finally finding someone for myself, I still had to share with Tom."

Nevertheless, he quickly formed a strong bond with Beau and Coy. "I went up to the room in Denver and I sat there and played with them," he said. "Little did I know Mark had me on a nanny cam to see if I passed the test, and apparently I did."

The family also remains close to their surrogate, Ashley. "Ashley had Coy and Beau for us, and she's very much in their life," Mark explained. When Beau was about 5, she told her dad she missed having a mother. "That just broke my heart," Mark said. "So we called Ashley and she said, 'Now we have to make it happen in a bigger way.'"
